Barby Reimagined
This case study showcases my process of transforming Barby's app into a dynamic platform that reflects their brand and improves user experience. With user research and design thinking, I created a design that aligns with the venue's visual identity and user needs. Dive into the details below and discover how my strategic approach elevated the Barby concert experience.
This Project was created as a home assignment for a big UX/UI company in Tel Aviv.
Overview
Barby is one of Tel Aviv's most iconic live music venues, known for hosting a wide array of local and international artists. Established in 1994, Barby has become a cultural hub in the city's vibrant music scene, offering an intimate atmosphere where fans can enjoy performances across various genres, from rock and indie to electronic and jazz. The venue is celebrated for its excellent acoustics, a dynamic stage setup, and a loyal audience that appreciates its authentic, underground vibe. Over the years, Barby has solidified its reputation as a must-visit destination for music lovers in Israel.

My Goals
My primary goals for the Barby app rebranding and design project were threefold.
First, I aimed to streamline the ticket management process, making it easier for users to purchase and manage their tickets directly through the app, thereby enhancing the overall user experience.

Second, I focused on increasing ticket sales by creating a more intuitive and engaging interface that encourages users to attend more events.

Finally, I set out to rebrand and design the app with a distinct "underground smoky dark music venue" vibe, capturing the essence of Barby's unique atmosphere. This involved incorporating visual and interactive elements that reflect the venue's gritty, authentic character, ensuring that the app resonates with both new and returning patrons.

My Goals
I conducted a survey to gather insights into the ticketing experience of Barby venue attendees.
The survey revealed that a significant majority (about 68%) of users receive their tickets via email or text message. However, over 55% of these users reported frequently misplacing their tickets, leading to frustration and delays when attending events.
72% of respondents mentioned that they don't receive timely notifications about concerts by artists they follow or enjoy. This often results in them missing out on events they would have liked to attend.
Further data showed that 64% of users would prefer a more centralized and intuitive solution within a dedicated app that not only stores tickets but also provides personalized notifications for upcoming events based on their music preferences.
